Step 1 - Creating Your Account

Re certification for 2021 begins with creating an account on the US Soccer Learning Center.
  • 2020 Grassroots Referees will re-certify under the new USSF Grassroots Referee program
  • 2020 Regional Referees will re-certify under the new Regional Referee program
To begin your re-certification you will need to create your Learning Center account using the same “Name” and “EMail” that you use on Got Soccer. Each account for the Learning Center must use a unique email address. Once you have the email address you will use, you can continue through the steps below to create your new account. and start the re-certification process.

Once your account is created it may take 24 hours before your current certification appear in your account.  If after 24 hours you still do not see your current license listed on your profile page, you can follow the instructions "Missing Your Current License".

You will not be able to register for the re certification until your current license is populated into the new account.  This delay will only happen in this initial year, as after that, all referee certifications will be stored in the Learning Center.

Open The Learning Center

In order to recertify, you will need to create an account with the US Soccer Learning Center, as the courses are now coordinated, scheduled and administered via this online portal.


You can click the image to the left to open the Learning Center Portal in a new window, and begin your registration process.


Once you arrive on the Learning Center Website, you will need to click the "Sign Up" link in the upper right (circled in red on the image to the right).

Select Your Dicipline

After Clicking the "Sign Up" link, you will be asked to choose the Dicipline that you wish to create an account for.  The new Learning Center is used for both Coaching and Referee Education, so you will need to select "Register As Referee" to Proceed.

Enter Your Information

Enter your information into the form, making sure to use the same name and email that you use to log into got soccer for assignments, and tournament registration.


If you have multiple referees registering from the same household, each person will need to use a unique email address in the system.  All registrations are tracked to the specific email address for each account.


Once you have completed the form, you will need to click the green "Sign Up Now" text in the lower right corner of the form.

Once your account is created, it may take 24 hours for your current Licenses to populate into the system.  You can check your account for your current licenses by clicking your name in the upper right corner of the website, and selecting "Profile" in the menu.


Once your current license shows up in the system, either as the listed license, or in your "License History" (Link Circled in Red on Image), you are ready to register to recertify.


If you are an adult (over the age of 18), you must complete the background screening as your first step, before you will be able to register for the recertification course.


Once signed up for the course, you only need complete the online assignments. Recertification does not currently have a field session requirement.

Missing Your Current Licenses?

If your current licenses do not show up on your profile page within 24 hours, you can click the circled link in the licenses section of your referee profile to request help in connecting your current licenses to your new account.

Clicking the link will open the popup below.

Check the box for "Request help finding a duplicate profile" and then click the Save & Close link.

From there the helpful staff at the Learning Center, will help to get your proper licenses conencted to your new account.
